Privacy Policy

1. Overview

LicensePro ("we" or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

2. Data we collect

You provide directly

  • Email address — used for sign-in (magic link), reminders, and account communications
  • License details — types, jurisdictions, expiration dates, holder names, license numbers, issuing agencies, renewal portal URLs, cost paid, insurance carrier names, and free-form notes
  • Documents — PDFs, JPGs, and PNGs you upload to the Premium document vault
  • Billing information — handled by Stripe (we never see or store your card numbers)

Collected automatically

  • Technical data — IP address, country (from Cloudflare), browser user agent, request timestamps
  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, affiliate-link clicks within the Service
  • Session cookies — a single httpOnly cookie used for authentication; no third-party tracking cookies

From third parties

  • Stripe — subscription status, customer ID, and billing event metadata

3. How we use your data

  • Operate the Service — sign you in, store your licenses and documents, fire renewal reminders
  • Send transactional emails — magic links, renewal reminders, weekly digests, billing receipts
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security threats
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve the Service — aggregate, anonymized analytics on which features are used
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Who we share data with

We share data only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate LicensePro:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, edge compute (Pages, Workers, D1, R2)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
  • Discord — internal operational notifications (aggregate signup, churn, and click counts; no document contents)

Each provider processes your data subject to their own privacy and security commitments and only as needed to provide their service to LicensePro.

We may also share data when required by law, in response to lawful legal process, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, sale of assets).

5. Affiliate links and analytics

When you click an affiliate link in LicensePro (for example, the Toolkit page or in-app recommendations), we record the click — the brand you clicked, the source within the app, and a timestamp — to measure which recommendations are useful and to calculate aggregate revenue attribution. We do not share your identity with the affiliate destination beyond what your browser sends naturally (referer header, IP).

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

  • You can no longer sign in or access your data through the Service
  • Your account row is marked deleted but retained for aggregate reporting and Stripe transaction history
  • Your licenses, documents, and reminder history are retained in our system but inaccessible
  • If you sign up again with the same email, your account is automatically reactivated and your data restored (this is the default; email us if you do not want this)

If you want all of your data permanently deleted (including documents in R2 storage), email [email protected] with the subject "DELETE ALL DATA" from your account email. We will permanently delete everything within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

7. Security

Documents are stored in private Cloudflare R2 buckets and served only to authenticated owners. Magic-link tokens are single-use and expire after 15 minutes. Session cookies are httpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax. Payments are processed by Stripe over TLS; we never receive or store card numbers.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, email [email protected] immediately and sign out of all devices.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (see "Data retention" above)
  • Export your data — we provide a CSV export of all licenses from the Settings page
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent for optional processing

9. Children

LicensePro is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

LicensePro is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you understand that your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be emailed to active users at least 14 days before they take effect.
